I am currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. I earned my Ph. D. in philosophy at the University of Notre Dame under the direction of Karl Ameriks and Fred Rush. I also hold an M.S. in physics from U.C. Davis.
My main areas of research are Kant and German Idealism. My focus has been on themes of nature and freedom in Kant and Schelling, with an emphasis on Kant’s Critique of the Power of Judgment and Schelling’s philosophy of nature. More recently, I've become interested in issues of systematicity, grounding, and the limits of discursivity in Kant and German Idealism. This has led to projects on Platonism in Schelling’s early philosophy, and have a book written and under contract on the topic. For more information, click the "research" link above.
